The recruitment industry is cooked.

Hiring based on resumes is an outdated, inefficient process that can cost a company up to $240,000 in making a bad hire.

This all changes with an AI-driven skills assessment platform that helps employers evaluate job candidates based on their performance and competencies.

Founded in 2017, early-stage trailblazer Vervoe started its journey as an Australian software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup that wanted to change how people are hired. 

Leading a team of 6 marketing associates at its peak, I joined Vervoe in 2022 as the head of Growth Marketing to optimize inbound customer journeys and build product marketing campaigns.

With the likes of Walmart, Australia Post, and OmniComm as marquee clients, I couldn’t pass on the trajectory of a forward-thinking software firm changing how we hire – for good.

Problem ―

Vervoe wanted to attract employment recruiters searching for solutions to their recruitment challenges on Google.

Although the team had an active content marketing program, most of our content published for Google was focused on brand enrichment and highly-contested short-tail keywords. 

Our inbound content wasn’t even in the same league to compete for rank position against leading recruitment software brands, so we had to think about our core obstacle:

How can recruiters find us on Google for a problem they’re looking to solve? We focused on two core problems to solve:

  • Legacy brands dominate share of search through brand recognition alone, regardless of the quality of the content published to Google or the capabilities of their products
